-40C is quite do-able if you do it right.

You're talking wind chill IIRC. As long as the bare skin is covered that's quite manageable.

Case law backs you up on that Bob.

As for dangerous, I guess it's all in the way you dress. I was cold but not that uncomfortable. Army surplus parka, layers, long-johns, proper winter boots and mittens (not gloves).

-40C is quite do-able if you do it right.

I think it went down to around -30c here in Toronto last night.
60km/hr (around 40mph) winds made it feel colder than -40C. (-40C =
-40F). I have about a 2 km walk home from the bus stop at 1am. Luckily
the wind was at my back. It was cold. ;-)

That's quite dangerous. If you're walking back that late because of
working then they have a duty of care to pay for a taxi or something.

Warming trend starts late today - Mid-30s F by the weekend.

It was -26 C (-16 F)in Michigan last night, and it’s -24 C (-11 F)
right now. I suspect it was quite a bit colder up Wheatfield’s way.
