On 7/1/14, knarf, discombobulated, unleashed:

>-40C is quite do-able if you do it right.

I once filmed in an industrial freezer - three levels of er freeziness -
down to -5c, then thru to a -10c and finally a -25c. Could only be in
the -25c for about 5 minutes as we just had normal clothes and jackets.
In that time the plastic cable sheathing froze solid on camera and
tripod wiring and then focus barrel on the lens went noticeably stiffer.
It became a labour to breathe - possibly more to do with the sudden
change in temps than the actual temps themselves. We recovered to normal
room temp in a matter of less than a couple of minutes back through the
-10c and the -5c.

It might be wet here in the UK and we do tend to moan about the weather
a lot - but actually we live in a very mild climate dictated by a mild
and moist Atlantic Ocean - and I for one am grateful!
