Paul, I believe you mean the element alignment issue, and not the SDM
motor. To that end, I have to point out that in this small country, even
if the shop would be willing to perform the exchange (which is not
self-evident to begin with), they might simply have not enough boxes in
stock for me to cherry pick through. Rather, as experience shows it,
they would try their best to convince me that the lens is within
tolerances and that I could close the aperture, perform a somersault
while triggering a shutter or whatever only not to have it exchanged.
