The auto time out is in System Preferences (in the applications folder)
and is under Energy Saver

Finally finished reading the instruction books, hooked everything
together & turned it on. Mostly semi-intuitive setting it up. There's a
few things I need to figure out yet.
Had to log into the App Store which required me to update my billing
information. No big problem there. It tells me I'm currently at OS X
10.8.3. It's currently downloading OS X Mavericks (it said free update?).
Is that going to fix that "goto fail" bug? Or am I going to have to get
a later version?
I also got a bunch of emails from Apple telling me my Apple ID is being
used with a new computer that it's never been associated with before,
but since it's notifying me of things I just did a few minutes before to
get it up & running, it's not that worrisome ...
Except, it says I've used my Apple ID to log into Facetime & iMessage. I
have only the vaguest idea what those are (something like Skype & AOL
Instant Messenger??). I'll have to figure out where to turn them off in
a bit.
I already turned off bluetooth & Wi-Fi. I don't use either of those on
my home network.
The other thing I need to find is how to set the auto-time-out so I
don't have to hover over it and move the mouse every few minutes to
prevent it from going to sleep while I'm doing other things. Right now
it looks like it's set at about 5 minutes. It's gone down twice in just
the time it's taken me to write this.
Tomorrow night I start looking at getting the recording software installed.
