Am I to understand then that you can get a digital back for a pentax 645?
I know that one of my friends has a digital back for one of his medium
format cameras (mamiya?)

Why isn't a digital back available for one of the K-mount cameras (my
preferance would be the LX). A friend of mine recently acquired Nikons
digital SLR for work, this thing looks like an SLR, even sounds like an
SLR (I wonder to extend that was marketing). The only thing about it is
that the digital sensor is half the size of a 35 mm frame and so everthing
is half sized in the view finder. If we could get a full framed digital
sensor that fit onto the back of a 35 mm camera it seems to me that we
could have the best of both worlds.
