Sorry, went to wrong topic... Like a lot of other PENTAXians I have been waiting on a 35mm Digital release. My main reason is almost $10k in glass I have for my bodies. My last PENTAX purchase was the MZ-S body and this may well be my last PENTAX purchase.
Other than rumours, I have not seen an authoritive statement on PENTAX's position with Digital 35mm bodies. Even a Digital back for the 645nII would be good. After talking with others who use PENTAX I find I am not alone in being frustrated by the lack of availability. Even a 1.2 MegaPixel would do to get the ball rolling, instead of what I can only assume is the 'waiting for the perfect Digital 35mm body', it does not exist. I am faced with a choice in the near future of selling all my PENTAX gear and jumping ship to Nikon, or, using a Digital 35mm from PENTAX. As mentioned previously, I am no alone in this. Has PENTAX gone over in favour of the users who take holiday and snapshot pics at the expense of professional and enthusiest photographers? Is there a reason why, when I approach my PENTAX rep and ask about a digital 35mm solution I am bombarded with FUD. Why not a statement on their position, even it is 'We will be releasing our new range of 35mm digital cameras in Sept 2010' so people can make an informed choice.
