Unlike negative film, either BW or color, there is no intermediate step where corrections can be made. And transparency films generally don't have the latitude of a multi-purpose BW filmm like Tri-X. You can't change paper grades or enlarger exposure when working with transparency film. What's on the film is what you get. There's a lot of real skill involved.
