The first image is a stunner IMO Mark, mainly due to his pose and activity.
A minor nit - I'd crop out that partial branch just below to bird.

I was going to go out shooting today but wound up staying around the house
to get caught up on some yard work. This goldfinch might have been a
better photo op than anything I would have seen in the field. Comments

K-3 and Tokina ATX 400 f5.6. For a ~$350 lens it does a decent job.
