Late to the party here Sandy, I have the Sigma 10-20/3.5 lens, it's
pretty damned good, I managed to produce some pretty spectacular
images using it. It's known to be a bit soft at the edges at 10mm but
it's not insurmountable,10mm is extremely wide. That all said it's
neither particularly light or small so maybe not great for travel
unless you really need the versatility that the zoom affords.
