I took the $10/mo deal and never looked back. That's a very fair price for LR and PS. 99.9% of work is done in LR.
One thing I will say. You MUST buy off on the concept that LR is where you keep and organize your photos. This isn't a problem, it works very well. Trying to use it as a stand alone editor will just cause you frustration.
