Thanks Steve. I appreciate your feedback. As you rightly pointed out I
am a visitor to your country - was with General Motors Ohio as an
Engineer in the late 1970s - so I just pointed out the unique look of
buildings in California - and not beauty per se.
If you look closely at photo 5 (# 7538) you will notice the tall &
thin statues of a man and woman to the bottom behind the motorcycle.
It is this which first attracted me. Alpine style architecture yes as
pointed out by you
Photo 6 (# 7541) as I saw was very similar to housing complexes in
Spain and the UAE (Middle East) - concrete / brick building with
carved wooden balconies - very expensive high class living right off
the historical main road El Camino Real.
Photos 1&2 (#s 7523, 7524) - the wall paintings attracted me on the
old building reminiscent of 1920s California. There is a huge court
yard 1920s style with colonial wooden benches and tall trees leading
to the Century Cinema Hall, another ancient building.
There are 7-star eateries around the court yard. Only a video can
capture the beauty of the place.
The day was rather brooding - stark and cloudy - see the listless sky.
Thanks once again for looking at the posts.
Regards.
Bipin.
