Other things being more or less equal, it's a good idea to choose cork because 
it helps to maintain a unique ecosystem and culture.

In a choice between two bottles of similar type and quality I don't mind paying 
a little bit more for the one with the cork, not just because of the cork 
industry, but also because of the ritual aspect of pulling the cork - it makes 
the wine taste better!
