Great find - I like the composition and subject, second one better of course.

You probably could push the shadows down more if you wanted greater drama. I once saw a detailed work up on Harry Callahan's iconic "Trees in Snow" at the art institute of Chicago. They had the neg on a light box (under glass of course) and the test prints that he made. He was actually very careful to expose to preserve shadow details in the trees and planned to print it showing the detail in the bark, but tossed it all and printed it down to make the trees virtually all black. I was amazed at how much detail was in the neg and how much better the image was without it.
