I dunno'. Since it seems that Adobe is NOT going to require a subscription to the cloud version for Lightroom yet, you could probably get away with adopting the old Photoshop strategy of purchasing every other version so you wouldn't have to change over to a 64-bit operating system until Lightroom 7.
OTOH, most new computers seem to already come with 64-bit operating systems, so if you have any other reason to update/upgrade/replace your computer I don't see how it's going to make that much difference. -- Science - Questions we may never find answers for.
