I'm not an expert on Canon, but if they are going to 46MP it will be a
Sony sensor in the camera (not a Canon sensor). I think Canon has been
stuck realizing that they were at the end of the line as far as
competing successfully with their own sensors.

So it is probably where a Pentax FF will be going eventually. Both
Nikon and Canon are going to offering it sooner.
Whether it performs as well in the dynamic range/high ISO department
remains to be seen. I have difficulty seeing how it could.
