The new collapsible 18-50mm kin lens.
I keep looking at that lens thinking it's not much bigger than the 43mm
limited, and it would make a great compact walking around lens on a K-5II.
Here's an interesting question, the collapsible Kit lens locks the K-S2 when
the lens hasn't been opened to taking position, (firmware driven I expect), how
far back will a firmware fix be supplied? K10D/20D pretty much not, they didn't
add a fix for the 1.4x multiplier, but the K-5IIs is still current, (at least
as far as Ricoh Imaging USA is concerned), will they even bother to release a
firmware update for that camera?
Apart from this issue, anyone have any thoughts about this lens. I haven’t
found any reviews online.
You'll have to wait for that, it hasn't been released yet, as a separate
product, the "L" version is shipping with the K-S2, but no one has
actually done a full review of the camera or lens yet, here's a preview.
