Your post is really puzzling to me, for I see the f-stop very clearly. I'm curious if anybody else has this problem. Lukasz

Apart from exposure information, what information do you look for and find important. Speaking for myself, all I care to see is simple display which lets me know the exposure, whether it be by needle alignment or some other simple method. The display in the MX is more than adequate, although it shows the shutter speeds, which, as far as I'm concerned, is sometimes annoying. Yet the information is simple and pretty unobtrusive. So, what do you look for and prefer, and why? -- Shel Belinkoff ------------------------------ For all-manual cameras numbers in the viewfinder (shutter speeds and f-stops) are distracting. A +/- needle a la K-1000 (or half stop LEDs a la MX) is most easy to use. However such numbers are necessary, if the camera automatically selects shutter speeds, f-stops or both. Also, for cameras having a TTL flash, a confirmation that the flash exposure was in the range of the flash capabilities is nice. Unavoidably, the complexity of the viewfinder indications increases with increasing automatic functions. Speaking about the MX finder ... Interestingly, you didn't mention that the MX finder also displays the f-stop number. However, the apparent viewing distance of the f-stop window is such close (by far closer than the viewing distance of the screen) that the f-stop number is factually invisible during shooting. It is totally useless IMO. AK Yahoo! Games - play chess, backgammon, pool and more http://games.yahoo.com/ - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
