Hi, Lukasz, I'm with you on this one: I've had no trouble reading the f-stop in the MX viewfinder. With the possible exception of when the ring is "between stops", and the numerals aren't in the lttle viewer's "area". No problem moving the ring 1/2 stop one way or the other, to see where I am, however. I guess that's a downside of optical/mechanical viewfinder info, but on a fully mechanical body, I suppose there's not much choice. I'd rather it be that way, so if batteries go kaput, I still have that info (minus the meter, obviously) at hand.
I do appreciate having the f-stop (along with the shutter speed) in the viewfinder. I don't always have to check it, but since I'm used to my stop-down old Spotties, you know about how far you're stopped down by the brightness (or darkness) of the viewfinder. Since the MX is one of these new-fangled open aperture reading metered bodies, that info is helpful, just in case I don't have time to check the dof preview. And, to answer Shel's original query, on a manual focus, mechanical camera, with no metering options, the meter and exposure info is all I need or want in the viewfinder. Anything else (what else could there be?) would be superfluous and annoying. regards, frank regards ukasz Kacperczyk wrote: > Your post is really puzzling to me, for I see the f-stop very clearly.
