Hi Larry. I ama aware of three possible reasons:
1 - You hit 500 photos
2 - Past midnight (new date)
3 - You manually create a new directory (newer cameras allow you t odo that)

Subject: How do the different subdirectories work on the SD card?
Last night I saw the Red Elvises play in Santa Cruz. It was a very fun
show, and I ended up taking pictures. I loaded them into lightroom last
night, and when I went through them this morning, a whole bunch were
missing. Going back and looking, Lightroom had only read the ones out
of the 100PENTX directory, not the 101PENTX directory.
First of all, this seems to be a bit of a lightroom bug. However, what
causes the camera to change from storing photos in one subdirectory to
another? Is it when I hit 500 photos?
