Between the time Columbus "discovered" what would become known as the Americas and the founding of the Plymouth & Jamestown colonies, 90% of the new world population died from virgin fields epidemics. Not just the Spaniards, but the Portuguese, Dutch, English, French ... And don't forget that the Plains Indians had no horses until after 1520, although there is a growing body of paleontological evidence that horses once roamed free in North America until the first "native Americans" crossing over from Asia hunted them to extinction some 12,000 years ago. -- Science - Questions we may never find answers for.
