I guess the transition from twin jet engines and Mach 2 capability to 
underpowered air-cooled VeeDub isn't such an easy one...

I had a similar thing happen in my early bike messenger days. I still had a car 
then, which I used only on alternate weekends. Translating the "point and 
squirt" tactics of a bike messenger in downtown gridlock to a Ford Taurus on a 
controlled access highway is scary. I really had to calm myself down in the 
car...

Love the pic, BTW. Especially the Mickey D sponsorship. Thirty years ago 
(pre-Tiananmen Square) they'd have been Western corporate devils.
