Hi All, I'm looking to buy a remote power supply for my AF500FTZ (can't stand the limited life and long recharge time of rechargeables-- plus having to change batteries in mid stream) I looked at the TR Power Pack II, which is the only choice according to Boz's site, but I choked when I saw the pack at Adorama (usually the least expensive site) and found one for $120.... Seems a bit steep for a box that holds 6 C batteries....
I'm tempted to try and rig my own power supply... Maybe with off the shelf parts at radio shack? Anyone ever tried it before? I wonder if the plug to fit it to the flash is also off the shelf?
