Looking for alternatives to insects I visited the only Rock Shop in the area
and came back with a few samples to work with. This is an Ammonite, a fossil
of a chambered shell:

or on flickr:

16 stacked images at about 1.5x lifesizxed. K01 plus A*200 macro plus
extension. I used the working room from the longer lens to setup the flash
to shine directly onto the fossil to reveal as much as possible in the
layers beneath the surface.
Comments welcome!
