Thanks, Steve. The rock shop I visited just opened a few months ago and
was rather small. A show like you describe sounds like it would offer a
lot of potential subjects.

i've seen these often, but never looked into them so deeply
if you ever want to get your mind totally crystallized, attend the
Denver Gem and Mineral Show in September; there are actually two huge
shows simultaneously; i bet if you did a series of photos like that,
you could sell a lot of prints there
