It's not just one PDML list member. I've received multiple invites on
multiple occasions to join LinkedIn from multiple list members.

Linkedin is spam crazy. I joined it in 2006 when I started my business,
was told it was 'the' network for professionals to use. Loada bollocks.
Haven't had one enquiry ever. But rather than close the account I left a
page pointing towards my website. Haven't logged on since, probably
don't have the logins anymore anyway!

But I get spammed by 'Fred Bloggs wants to make a connection with you'
or 'Joe Shmo has a new job' etc. Mail filters :-)

I haven't resorted to kill filters yet because I didn't want to block
legit email from list members. But I might be headed that way.

There's a "gotcha" inside the LinkedIn sign up process & if you're not
aware of it, LinkedIn will hijack your address book and send endless
"invitations" to everyone on it. If you use something like Thunderbird
for email, you might not be aware that the email address of the sender
of EVERY email you've ever received is in your address book (unless you
go in there occasionally & weed them out).

NOTE WELL that I am *NOT* accusing anyone here on the list of spamming,
but more than one of you has been "gotcha'd" by LinkedIn.
