I figure I'll use the 1.4 in crop mode or on my K3 for small bird photography 
with the 150/450. That's been working fine so far. For anything else I shoot, 
450mm will be plenty on the K1. The problem with the 1.7 has always been 
unreliable autofocus. I don't think I want one.
