Taka, I have a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual. When used with the supplied TWAIN driver software, it shows a fair bit of noise in the shadows. When used with Ed Hamrick's ViewScan (http://www.hamrick.com), it handles high-contrast scenes and dark shadows very well. Definitely worth the $400 I paid for it. Pretty much everything on my site (http://www.westerickson.net/mark/markphoto.html) was scanned using my Scan Dual.
