Strange, but my experience is just the opposite, as is that of my wife and adult son. I've never had any problem with a new apple device. The most important part of any Apple product, of course is the service. A couple of years ago, I bought my wife an iPad for Christmas. 13 month later, the camera stopped working. Even though it was out of warranty by a month, she took it in to the local Apple Store. After telling here it was out of warranty, they examined it, said "This shouldn't happen," replace it, free, with a new unit of he latest version, transferred all her files on the spot, and said "Sorry for the trouble you had." They may have looked up our account and seen how many apple products we have purchased since 1981, but even so, that is great customer service. We use Dell PCs in my office, and those things really are crap.
