A series of tutorials showing how to screw up your photos in lightroom.

Sorry, Larry, but I do not appreciate the presentation (even though there is some reasonable rational behind it.):
Too much fluff/hype and very little essence.
All of that could be summarized in one sentence:
"Do not OVERDO!" or "Use your head, you stupid!".

And Petapixel overhypes it on top of that: "10 Things NOT TO DO in LR".

Let me provide some examples:

"You should never ever use the selective color in Lightroom".

I dislike when people give these type of "absolute" advice that postulates something without providing any type of reasoning WHY that shouldn't be done (he never says that in that video), nor allowing any possibilities that these tools can be used properly and then they are appropriate. (Well, he mumbles something like "if it took you very short time to do it, it must be bad".)

Essentially, the guy is showing bad use of tools and says: don't use these tools at all, because I've shown how badly one can [mis]use them.
It would have worked better if these tips were called:
"How NOT to use tools in LR".
And that could be applied the same way to ANY slider: Exposure, Shadows, highlights, sharpening, ... Do not pull them to far.

And he misleads you.
E.g. in the "clarity" video:
"Why the bottom of the building is lighter?.."
Well, because it was light before you touched that "Clarity" slider.
Yes you've effectively enhanced the contrast, and that made that (pre-existing!) difference stronger. But don't tell me that it appears just because of the "clarity slider".

I completely agree with Malcolm:

Cheers,

PS. Larry, just in case, - the irritation that might be seen in my message is not targeting you, but rather that guy in the video, and petapixel.
