The only reason to use PEF format is if you're shooting a *ist-D since it doesn't support DNG or you need to save space, as early implementations on Pentax cameras produced DNGs 130% to 200% the size of a PEF file. That hasn't been an issue for quite some time.

I am expecting my K-1 to arrive later today. Can someone tell me if Photoshop
CS6 will recognize PEF files from the K-1? Or should I shoot in DNG format?

Thanks,
