That's what I'm currently using and setup is almost automatic. It used to be more automatic, but I believe that Google and Mozilla had some kind of falling out and they now offer a gandi.net account where they once offered gmail. I know nothing about gandi.net.

How does that work using an external email client like Thunderbird?

I used to use Earthlink back when they were actually based in the US,
Atlanta to be exact.

When they moved Tech Support to "elsewhere" and all their techs were
totally script driven I changed to Google after trying to reactivate my
Hotmail account, who banned me for spamming, (basically sending out a
notification to my address book notifying them of my new email
address). I then, because it seemed appropriate, tried to register
[email protected] but Microsoft has no sense of humor especially
when they're the butt of the joke.

Sure Google scans my emails for key words to try and sell me something,
but that's automated and I don't do anything on email that I care if
anyone else sees. At least people running the joint are mostly
competent, and the service is "free".

I've now identified three Earthlink mail server IP addresses that are
RBL by "Spam Eating Monkey". I think "Spam Eating Monkey" must be the
service PDML uses.

All three RBL instances track back to the same idiot Earthlink "user"
spamming some other mailing list.

I spent an extended period of time on the phone with Earthlink's
"technical support" in India Friday night; a complete waste of time.

I'll make one more attempt on Monday during US business hours, but I
might be looking for another email provider ... AGAIN.
