A fascinating subject, Larry. As you say, the lighting is challenging.
The third image (almost B/W) probably shows the bridge best of all but
the sky is subdued. If you could get the sky more like the last image
it
would be greatly improved.
Thanks. I'll see what I can do. I suspect that a lot of what I'm trying to do
would be a lot easier in Photoshop.
BTW, you work?
Yeah, part time, installing network cable. Now that things have settled down
with Mom I need to knock the rust off my programming skills and get an
engineering job. I could kvetch at length about having to ride with my boss
the 500 I'm down to LA on a day that I would have much rather gone to a
friend's party.

Unfortunately, I have to leave right now for work. I've done a bit
more work on the night photos of the Chitwood bridge. Post
processing is taking a lot of work with the adjustment brush,
dodging,
burning etc. in various areas.
I'd appreciate feedback on these intermediate steps, what works, what
doesn't, what I need to tone down or dial up and I'll beat on them
again in a few days when I get back. I think they've got some
promise, but it'll take work to bring them out. It's rather
challenging lighting.
