Generally, the best lenses are the Super Multi-Coated Takumars. From among these, there are many superb lenses. A few of my favorites include the 85/1.8, the 135/2.5 with six elements, the 105/2.8, the 50/1.4, the 35/2.0, the 300/4, and the 28/3.5. But almost all of the lenses in this series are very good. Generally, the third party lenses are not quite as good. Some exceptions to this rule can be found among the Vivitar Series 1 lenses. But I'd focus my attention on hunting some of these down. One of those I mentioned was seen on ebay this afternoon with a good buy it now price. Paul
