Very sorry to hear that, Larry - I am close to that situation myself, my 102-year old mother is in a high-care aged care facility, and we have twice been advised to prepare for the worst. One can only ask for an easy transition.

Meanwhile, unrelated to covid-19, I was woken this morning by a text from my sister. Mom is declining, despite the home being on lockdown they were working on procedures for her to be with Mom at the end, unless of course Mom pulls through again. A 1700 mile drive, however, is out of the question. I’ve pretty much said goodbye for the last time every time I’ve seen her for just over three years, and she wouldn’t even know I was there. I do wish I could be there for my sister though. All things considered, Mom passing is the best thing for everyone involved, especially her, or what’s left of her. She’s been my mom less and less, and less and less of the time since she broke her hip.
