Don't wait too long should you consider to obtain a KP , because it is being discontinued.

Welcome back. I was here 10 years ago but don't recall your name - but memory
isn't a strong point at my age :-)

Before deciding on a K-70 it might be worth Googling "Pentax Aperture Block"
which affected several cameras including, I think, the K-70. It might be worth
considering a KP or even a lightly used K-5 II or K-5 IIs.

Cheers

I've just re-joined PDML after about 10 years - not that my absence
would have been noticeable as I was mainly a lurker. Work became too
busy and the bridge camera was more portable than the K20D when weight
was an issue. However the Lumix's focussing is too slow for a fast
moving 2 year old grandson, and it's been good to use the Pentax more. I
might even be tempted to put batteries and film in the LX... And should
I upgrade the K20D, now that I am retired and supposedly have more time?
A better low light sensor would be good and the K-70 will probably suit,
but I must do more research.

I recognise many of the same names as 10 years ago, some of whom I met
at the 2005 London PDML at Borough Market and the London Eye. I'm
enjoying not just the Pentax discussions and photos, but of course the
eclectic OT discussions ranging from US domestic voltages to Covid-19
antibody responses. As a microbiologist with an interest in the history
of disease, the horrors of the past year have held a morbid fascination,
but hopefully we will all be safely allowed out soon.

BTW, is there still a digest version?

back to lurking
