The K3 is still an excellent performer in the APS-C class
After a *istDS, a K10D, a K20D, a K-7 and a K-5, I've got my K-3 in 2014
and still love it to bits. Never had a DSLR that long without the
slightest wish to upgrade.
I'm finally letting my K3 go this weekend. We've had to delay Christmas,
but I'm giving my K3 and 18-135 to my grand daughter. I have only used
it once since I bought the K1, and really have no desire to go back to
the APS-C format, but if I do, I still have my Fuji.
The only problem my K3 has, and it's entirely my own fault as I left it
with no battery for several years, is the built in battery that keeps
the date and time settings has died, so the camera reverts to Jan 1 2013
whenever the main battery is changed. I didn't check to see if it
affected user settings.
My understanding is that if a charged battery is kept in the battery
bay, the camera uses it to maintain date and time and other settings,
and so won't discharge the battery on the motherboard.
Live and learn.
