I got home in the wee hours last night, moved my catalogs to the home machine, and the bad files seem to be reloading OK on the desktop. So, yay.
There seems to be one file damaged in some other way that I can’t recover. In other news, I seem to have trashed the card latch mechanism in slot one of my K-3, in the same way that it had been trashed in my K-1.
