I had a similar problem with my K-5. Using a good magnifying glass
check the bottom of the card slot for bits of plastic. I found pieces
in the slot that appeared to look like they were from a damaged SD card,
although I could never identify which one. I managed to fish the pieces
out and the latch has worked properly since.
