Perhaps, Frantisek, but I am not sure it would be better (or, that I
would like it better).  (I am trying to "isolate" myself from the
"usual" 2-touch way, which I am used to, in order to answer this -
<g>.)  However, I tend to like supporting a telephoto lens with my
left hand pretty far forward, so I think I would still prefer the
focus ring more distal and the zoom ring more proximal, the more
typical arrangement.  I guess I could get used to either way,
though...
