I agree. A monopod is great for carrying around and it certainly buys a couple of stops or even better helps to sharpen shots that might not otherwise be sharp. It's especially good for grabbing shots that would be difficult or too slow if you are using a tripod. I use a tripod 90 per cent of the time. A monopod 8 per cent of the time and handhold the other 2 per cent. Vic
