Now that i think of it,both frames were end frames and
did seem to 'wiggle' a tad.Might be what happened.I'm
hoping to use a different enlarger next week and i'll be
more carefull and observent.

I still can't imagine how one could scratch a neg in the enlarger 
unless
the film is being pulled through the carrier. That should never be 
done.
It's simple: lift the film by the edges and position it in the 
carrier.
Nothing comes in contact with the emulsion. Nothing can scratch it.
