- Our unemployment rate is the second highest in the continental US (tied with Michigan at 7.2%, Alaska being at 7.7%, as of Dec. 2003).
- Our state government is barely getting by and trying to tax the hell out of everyone to make up for their overspending. There have been two tries recently to scare us into paying more taxes, and voters turned it down.
- Our governor is a lethargic showpiece that hasn't done anything since he's been in office.
- Funding cuts are going on across the board for state, county and city.
- Schools are getting the worst of it, they are horribly underfunded and aren't getting any better.
I know it's off topic, but hope you did your homework before you decided to move to Oregon... ;-)
