Yes, that's the impression I get.  ActiveMQ runs on servers and
probably shouldn't be run on a little portable box with limited
resources...  but it wasn't my idea.

In terms of java apps, ActiveMQ can actually be run in a very
lightweight configuration. But it's still a java app and will have
certain overhead -- even when run as a binary through gcj, I believe.
