i dont think you need a script
just select the connected tracks cut and paste them back and they will pick up the new net name automatically

Maybe after this has been done, somebody else can create a script to change the net name of a connected set of tracks already laid down.? I'd do it myself if I could, but I'm lost when it comes to scripting languages. Maybe this has been done already?
