It's only a 2 layer board. I checked the vias - they go from TopLayer to BottomLayer.
Dennis - why do you think the polys should pull back from the vias ? I would think that dropping vias to connect planes like that is fairly common. I see it in SMPS designs a lot - plop a bunch of vias around to ensure current and heat transfer.
Surely I'm not the first to try this ...
I've just tried this in 99SE. If the polygon is not set to "Pour over same net", then it will not connect to vias - which is logical, since you've told it not to. If you place vias after the polygon is poured, they will be connected to the polygon, but will be disconnected if the polygon is repoured. In this state, the polygon will also avoid tracks of the same net that run through it, as instructed.
If "Pour over same net" is selected, then the polygon will connect (pour over) the vias.
If you consider vias as being "part of" or "similar to" tracks, this action should be expected.
