Jami,
For your uninstall, follow this procedure below. It is the "absolute
clean" uninstall procedure, without it you could still have the problems
perpetuate after a re-install because a couple files are not removed by the
regular uninstall procedure and they could be the problem in the first place.

Protel 99SE Complete Uninstall.(New version emailed from Lori Quevedo,
tested, solved my problem that I had using the original "clean" install
procedure.)

Version # Protel 99SE/ Service Pack 6:

PROBLEM: Is there a specific uninstall procedure for Protel? I have
uninstalled and reinstalled using add and/remove programs but Protel is
still acting up.

SOLUTION:

1) Un-install Service Pack 6 for 99SE
2) Un-install 99SE
3) Delete the Design Explorer 99 SE directory
(make sure you have no personal files or libraries stored here before
you do
        this).
4) Delete the files *99SE.* from your Windows or Winnt folder
5) Also delete from the Windows or Winnt folder *.bpl and *.dpl, if they are
        still remaining.
6) Re-install Protel 99 SE
        a) If Win 9x then Reboot
7) Re-apply Service Pack 6
        a) If Win 9x Then Reboot

OK,

Just found a copy of my original Protel99SE, and I just installed it here on
my old Win98 PIII 450Mhz Dell box that I use for email, and all seems OK
here, and the new file I received opens properly here, as do a couple of
.ddb files copied from the laptop which were problems there, so at least I
am not dead in the water, and I don't have to worry about problems with bad
files propigating to my xp box and it's Protel99SE installation.

I guess at this point, a fresh install on the laptop might just be the
easiest way to fix it all.

Once again, thanks again to all of you for all of your help.

JaMi
