I've heard of the "cse Linux Font Editor" http://dt.prohosting.com/hacks/cse.html . Please tell me if you know of any other free font editors. I am interested in fonts that are specifically designed to be fast-to-read. Unfortunately, is difficult to compare if one font is better than another, just by reading a couple of sentences. Any font significantly different than the fonts you have spent years training your eyes on ( "Helvetica", "Times Roman", etc.) will initially be slow to read, even if it would turn out to be faster to read after you practiced a few months with it. "Ten Word Line" http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?TenWordLine has a few other ideas for making text fast-to-read. If you like adding little serifs and slashes to distinguish easily-confused letters, you might be interested in UNIFON which adds serifs and slashes to distinguish between different sounds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UNIFON (I write a "4" open at the top, to make it more distinct from "9"). -- David Cary http://carybros.com/ http://visualwiki.org/ ____________________________________________________________ You are subscribed to the PEDA discussion forum To Post messages: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe and Other Options: http://techservinc.com/mailman/listinfo/peda_techservinc.com Browse or Search Old Archives (2001-2004): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] Browse or Search Current Archives (2004-Current): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
