It is probably best to leave this particular wrinkle alone for now, but maybe I can say a few things
by way of explaining my overall perspective on Peirce's logic and semiotics. My continuing interest
in Peirce's work is due to his penetrating insights into the wide world of logic, mathematics, and
all the sciences from physics to psychology. But that wide world exists as an object of study for
many people besides he and me, and so I have spent a good deal of the last 2014 - 1967 = 47 years
justifying the ways of Peirce to other folks. As much tolerance as I may have built up over that
time for Peirce's ways of describing things, I can tell you that most folks have no inclination to
wend their weary way through his thicket of archeologisms, neologisms, and categories unless one can
demonstrate beyond a reasonable skepticism that there is a definite practical utility to doing so.
In that spirit we may well ask, because others most certainly will, whether Peirce's description of
a proposition has any practical relation to what various other communities call a proposition.
With that pre-ramble I'll call it sufficient unto the day.
