Thank you very very much for your provocative post. Without either concurring or disagreeing with your conjectures, your perspective needs to be confronted by Peircians. While many questions come to mind, I need to read more of the references before deeper issues are addressed. For the moment, two critical question about the validity of using any mathematical or logical symbol (such as lambda) to support a linguistic (cultural) argument or hypothesis. Thus, what is the meaning of the lambda operator in this context? Is it more than merely a conjunction among sounds? If so, how doe it relate to the various notions of the word “atom”? Cheers Jerry
