Mediocrity and factionalism are the order of the day, year, decade.

Doyle;
Let me restate the above, but obvious in the sense of how I respond, the right is ascendent and therefore the resources for the left are constrained. Or stunted. The potential for growth is stunted so the possibility of a given group to grow itself big enough power over the last thirty years is constrained. Groups and factions arise and go away. They are a part of the political landscape and what has to be worked with.

The peak of rightwing ascendancy is down hill now in what they can do. Fundamentally the first element of a mass movement is arising, the general need to do something as a counter to the obvious failures on the national stage. So I expect factions to grow larger and more vocal and demanding of something. Whatever happens to KPFA and Pacifica the gloom of failure is burning away from the left. Those left now on the stage have a clear view to building something. Slow painful now, but at last opening up for us to make progress.
thanks,
Doyle Saylor
